Coins 4 Kids

In 2004, IP launched Coins 4 Kids alongside World Food Program USA as a way to serve the greater global community and provide much needed meals to school children who would otherwise go without. Thanks to the dedication and generosity of the IP Foundation, employees, employee spouses, family members and friends, many have come together to raise funds and awareness to support the WFP’s School Meals initiative in Nairobi, Kenya. Since its launch, Coins 4 Kids has combined employee, company and community gifts to provide more than 26 million children in Nairobi with nutritious school meals.

Each year, as a fundraiser for Coins 4 Kids, an annual Spring 4 Kids Week is held where employees, families and community members participate in a number of different events and activities to raise money for Coins 4 Kids. These events and activities include an online auction, basket raffles, corporate jeans day, community service, Lunch on the Lawn, Kids Helping Kids and more.

In 2013, thanks to local sponsors, IP employees, family members and friends, International Paper’s Spring 4 Kids Week raised more than $215,000 for Coins 4 Kids.

The upcoming 2014 campaign will mark International Paper’s 10th year conducting a Coins 4 Kids campaign and is sure to be the biggest campaign yet as focus has been placed on expanding the bidding footprint for our online auction while encouraging involvement from all areas of International Paper and the IP community!
